Become a part of our Security Team at Mutual of Omaha. This role will safeguard employees, visitors, and contractors within our Home Office campus. We prevent unauthorized access, patrol your grounds, and issue ID cards to authorized personnel. Our team is trained to respond swiftly to hazards, intrusions, theft, vandalism, equipment malfunctions, and medical emergencies—ensuring the safety of your people, property, and assets at all times. Hours for this role are 2nd shift, 3pm-11pm, Friday through Tuesday. Days off are Wednesday and Thursday. Apply today!

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Hourly Wage: $19.00, plus annual bonus opportunity.

  • Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
  • Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
  • Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Verify employee/non-employee IDs, record entries, and use verification software and the Lobbyworks visitor badging system to manage access.
  • Conduct regular patrols to monitor buildings and grounds for safety hazards, intruders, theft, vandalism, and other risks.
  • Secure fire-fighting equipment, extinguish lights, verify kitchen equipment is off, and ensure doors are properly latched. Issue tickets for equipment repairs and safety violations.
  • Use company vehicles to patrol remote areas, enforce parking regulations, respond to alarms, and manage traffic during events or weather-related incidents.
  • Provide escorts for terminated employees, airport transport, and bank security services. Assist in medical emergencies, transport employees, and offer visitor parking assistance.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Ability to work 2nd shift, 3pm-11pm, Friday through Tuesday, with days off Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Knowledge of security procedures, fire detection systems, equipment malfunction trends, and areas vulnerable to intrusions or theft.
  • Ability to operate security tools, including vehicles, scanners, UHF radios, and various fire extinguishers.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, conflict management, teamwork, and customer service abilities to interact professionally with employees and visitors.
  • Maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; comply with OSHA policies; and function effectively under stress as a first responder.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain reliable attendance, including overtime or severe weather shifts.

PREFERRED:

  • Previous security experience.
  • Knowledge of visitor parking lot procedures.
